  DisCovered is a band like many with history and takes pride in everything it has done over the years.


Simon Brett and John Neighbour formed the band in 2006 as an alternative covers band to play London's rock venues and pubs. Both lads had played in various other covers before (including Closing Time) but these were often restricted to performing your typical set list at pubs and clubs. The idea of DisCovered was to allow them to play songs that they loved, regardless of commercial success, and without the demand of what is expected of hired entertainment. The project was also meant to have a life span of just a year...


 


What contributed to the band’s early success and recognition was Vicky's idea of mixing the alternative song list along with current and classic dance floor fillers whether this had been Gossip’s ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ or Ike & Tina Turner’s ‘Nutbush City Limits’.  This helped the band’s potential and flexibility in the process without sacrificing the raw, energetic performances of songs such as Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ or AC/DC’s ‘Shook Me All Night Long’.  Her abilities as a strong and flawless vocalist have helped perform classic rock anthems by the likes of  The Who and The Rolling Stones, plus giving pop gems by the likes of Tina Turner and Chaka Khan a breath of fresh air, and adding her own twists onto modern anthems such as the Fratelli’s ‘Chelsea Dagger’ and the Gossip’s ‘Standing in the Way of Control’. Along with the power and tone of Vicky’s stage presence, she is a captivating ball of energy ready to explode for all to be caught in the radius of a DisCovered show!


Though of course all members of the band have given their own unique approach. John's influences of classic rock & blues adds the taste and dynamic effects whilst the rhythm section of Simon and Adam is one that is solid, groove-tight and full of life!


2007 was the year the band started getting reputation playing various venues around London and getting in on pub chains such as O’Neill’s and Walkabout. After a variety of enquiries from agencies such as Live Music Management (LMM) and Black Cat Promotions, the band decided to advertise as a band suitable for weddings and parties, playing counties such as Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Surrey in 2008 and have been doing so ever since. We have started with working with additional agencies such as Alive! Network.


At the end of 2009 Vicky left the band in order to concentrate on her studies in Music Production at Brighton Univeristy. Lisa Breyer was drafted in as her placement and currently fronts DisCovered.


History



..this, of course, never happened and after several successful gigs and personnel changes later (including Marina Diamandis of Marina and the Diamonds fame), 2007 saw what was considered ‘the classic line-up’ with Vicky Crouch joining on vocals in February of that year followed by Adam Flanagan on bass a couple of months later.
