This page covers some of the most commonly asked questions regarding booking DisCovered and special arrangements required for your event. If you are thinking of booking the band (or already have), we advise that you read this page to ensure that any queries are answered soon rather than later!




How much does it cost to hire you?


  1. •  For a quote, you will need to contact us via e-mail or phone. Your quote will include the cost of the band services, travelling expenses, additional equipment/arrangements etc.

  2. • Our quotes are competitive and fair for a professional act, and are around 15 - 20% cheaper than booking through an agency. Get in contact with us to discuss in full the details of the booking!

  3. •Please note that if you have found us through an agency that you will need to book us through them.



What songs do you play? Do you play requests?


  1. • Our most up-to-date song list can be found by clicking here.

  2. •  We can tailor our set lists to play specific songs chosen by you for your event.

  3. • For events, we can learn a couple of songs that you may wish to request ie. first dance. Once again, please mention this upon booking.



How long does it take you to set up?


  1. •  Ideally we need the best part of 1 1/2 hours to two hours to set up and sound check. This is essential to make sure that we get the best possible sound and volume to make the listening experience as enjoyable as possible.

  2. •We agree arrival time, set up times etc. upon booking.



How long do you play for?


  1. •   Normally we’d perform either 2 x1 hour sets or 3 x 40 minute sets.  We can play longer or even additional sets, please note that you may be subject to additional charges. We also charge extra for playing past midnight.



What requirements do you need from the venue/event?


  1. •    The primary thing we need is a good supply of power. Therefore we need access to as many wall plugs (standard  UK 13a) as possible.  We recommend at least 2 - 4 wall plugs to allow us to spread the current load safely for both the venue and our equipment.

  2. • We need to know if there is a sound limiter installed at the venue, and if there is, if its possible to disable it.

  3. • In an ideal world, a good sized playing area of around 5m x 3m would give us enough room to have a dance and to give the drummer some leg room (he’s a tall lad). We can play in smaller spaces however, the more room that can be given to us the better.

  4. •A stage isn’t essential but this gives us our own dedicated space to set up on and of course, makes better viewing for people watching and dancing to the band.

  5. •Parking close to the venue is also a factor we’d take into planning a booking and set up times, so if this can be arranged then we’d need the best part of at least 3 parking spaces close to the load in area.

  6. • If we are not playing on the ground floor of the venue, lift access is also a plus if that’s available.

  7. •Changing facilities - Somewhere for us to get ready, to store road cases etc. The venues toilets are NOT acceptable, so please ensure this is arranged with the venue before the date of the event.



Equipment spec?


  1. •Our professional PA that we use is suitable for an audience of 100-200 (approx .1500w at peak power).

  2. •For bigger audiences we may advise the hire of a bigger PA for your event.

  3. •We have a basic lighting rig for the stage area.

  4. •All equipment carries public liability insurance and is PAT tested on a regular basis. Copies of our certificates can be presented upon request.



Do you provide any additional services as part of bookings?


  1. •  We can provide background music for the intervals to keep things moving (no extra charge but do let us know upon booking)

  2. •As mentioned earlier, we can learn a song or two (ie. first dance) for a booking for no additional charge.



What happens if a member isn’t able to play due to ill health?


    In the case of illness with any members of the band we have understudies that are more than capable of taking the reins of the booking. Regardless of what happens, we will still be able to play your event.
